CEO Message

Greetings and Welcome to FIRtech.  I am Ugan Maistry, the CEO of FIRtech.

Today we find ourselves, as countries, governments, companies and individuals operating in a “new normal”.  What we once took for granted, a handshake, an embrace and a welcoming smile – we now treasure and look forward to experiencing again.

This is the time for us to pull together, support each other, make the right choices and re-evaluate what’s important in our personal and professional lives.

When we started FIRtech, our intention was to create a business that would help us, as a country, leapfrog into the fourth industrial revolution.  As such, our purpose is to help our customers and society leverage the opportunities of the fourth industrial revolution.  Equally, our aim is to help them navigate the challenges of this industrial revolution.

No-one could have foreseen the devastation brought about by COVID in 2020.  The number of lives lost, the number of businesses closing down and the long-lasting socio-economic impact – especially in our country.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to all that have been infected and affected by this pandemic.

In 2014, Klaus Schwab said “In the new world, its not the big fish which eats the small fish, it’s the fast fish that eats the slow fish”.  Undoubtedly, this vision was based on the role of technology in business evolution.  Today though, his words could not be more true.  The tectonic shift created by the pandemic has forced businesses to consider a digital transformation programme or to consider adopting digital business models, instead of the traditional brick and mortar models.
